The best laid plans

Well, 2010 is drawing to a close and I've been looking back through our ideas and plans for Plas y Nant during this past year. Some have been altered dramatically whilst others have just had a few slight tweaks. The quotes are now all back from the builders and our QS is studying these in great detail - maybe a few more tweaks will be required, my calculator is certainly being put to good use!

Unfortunately, not everything has worked out as planned. David's Mum decided to move from Peterborough to Rhos on Sea to be nearer us when we finally take up permanent residence. Her move went well at the end of November and that was one thing that could be crossed off our ever increasing "To Do" list.  However, within a few days of moving in she took a tumble and has so far spent the whole of December in hospital with a fractured hip. If that wasn't enough for her to contend with she has now contracted an infection whilst  there and has had to be moved into splendid isolation. I must say that she is being looked after very well at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd but it does go to show that no matter how well you plan things something unexpected will always happen to throw everything into disarray. We're hoping that sometime in January she'll be well enough to move back into her apartment and be able to enjoy her new surroundings in North Wales.

January will certainly be the start of a very busy time for us once the major building work gets going and I have to say I'm starting to get very excited. Although I do know from the experience of building our house that that feeling will probably change once work starts in earnest. I'm warning you now that I will bore you with photos and updates as work gets underway but in the meantime I'd just like to wish you a very Happy Christmas! Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda!
