Something's changed

No - you're not imagining it, the blog's had a bit of a makeover. I sat down to do the accounts and thought that there must be something more interesting to do on the computer instead.

The Snowdonia Suez Crisis

It is good to see you again after my enforced silence -  thanks to the incompetencies of BT, but enough said about that the better. We're settling in very comfortably into the cottage, even though the builders still haven't finished. It feels like they've moved in with us but hopefully one day they'll go and I can concentrate again on finishing the renovations to Plas y Nant. Since moving over here last June I certainly haven't led a very glamorous life, standards slipped dramatically living in the caravan and a couple of incidents have really tested my endurance and devotion to the restoration. Fortunately there are no photos to accompany this post!

Can't wait for Christmas!

Not many days left till we move into Bwthyn y Plas and I am so excited I can hardly cope with it all. There's plenty of work left to do and it certainly won't be finished when we move in but the builders are coming back in the New Year to finish it off and then we can restart work on the hotel.  By now I had hoped to have been able to take you on a tour of the finished cottage but, as I know from experience, my plans never work out as intended so I'll give you a quick tour of the kitchen and utility - avoiding the builders.

Hard hats not necessary today

Peace and tranquility has returned to Plas y Nant as there's only me here waiting for the screed to arrive so it's an ideal opportunity for you to have another look at what's been going on. You needn't put your hard hat on today but just be careful where you put your feet.

Halloween comes early at Plas y Nant

Just let me take my Rescue Remedy then I'll be able to carry on with this blog post. Right, I feel a bit calmer now so I shall begin.

A second tour of what will be our cottage

It's been a busy couple of weeks since you were last here at Plas y Nant - quite eventful as well during the gales - and, from what the builders have told me, next week onwards is going to be even busier. I'll take you on a quick look round now whilst they've disappeared for the weekend.
